Westover Award , Los Angeles, August 2005
Gary J. Long has been named recipient of the Robert B. Westover Award, presented by the California Jewelers Association to individuals for their outstanding contributions to the jewelry industry. Gary was honored at the West Coast Jewelry Show in August at the Westin Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
Gary J. Long and Margaret M. Long are the co-founders of Gary J. Long Jewelers in Stockton, California. Gary is only the fifth recipient of the award, named in honor of the CJA’s longtime Executive Vice President, Robert B. Westover.
The award is given for an individual’s cumulative contributions to the jewelry industry, and in naming Long as the 2005 winner, CJA President James Hartstein cited not only Long’s service as President of the CJA in 1994 and as Chairman of the Spring Pacific Jewelry Show for three years, but also for his leadership during a tumultuous period in the CJA’s history.
